Falling into Happiness

Isn’t it amazing that the world exists!  Isn’t it amazing that you have all these feelings.  Isn’t it amazing that you’re conscious.  Isn’t it amazing that there is consciousness.  Isn’t it amazing that you can be conscious of anything!

The enlightened or awakened condition is our natural condition, it isn’t extraordinary.  It’s simply natural to be happy and to love.  For whatever reason, we lose that natural disposition.  Having been restored to that natural disposition myself, it’s my aim to restore it in others and help them view life from that happy disposition.  The natural disposition sees things as they actually are and not how we presume them to be.  To view life in a truthful, natural way we must take a deeper, more inclusive and expansive perspective to life.  The understanding that this new perspective gives enables us to let go of narrow, unenlightened perspectives.

One thing that it’s important to understand is that there’s nothing we can do to be permanently happy.  There’s no way out of our basic situation.  When we realise there’s nothing we can do, then we’re beginning to understand and we’re left with only one real alternative.  If there truly is nothing we can do to be permanently happy then the only way to be happy is simply to be happy.  If happiness is our natural condition all we need do is allow it.  Relax, let go and allow happiness to be revealed to you, fall into happiness through feeling.

I dare say you’ve found yourself at sometime wishing you were someone else.  The reason someone else’s life seems more appealing than yours, is, to some degree, due to the fact that you’re unaware of the content of their mind.   If you were, you might not want to be that person - they may be in a worse state than you!  You might want to be somebody else because you’re unaware and therefore unable to take seriously all the drivel that goes on inside their head.  Well, in the same way, you’re more likely to want to be yourself, if you, likewise, ignored and refused to take seriously all the drivel that constitutes the content of your own mind.  See if you can take a humorous attitude towards your thoughts and the mental images that you perceive.  Just refuse to take the content of your mind seriously.  And by that I mean the entire contents, not just the crappie stuff or the stuff you don’t like.

If you can’t simply be, it’s because consciousness is preoccupied with something else.  See that your consciousness has become preoccupied with something else and become disinterested in that preoccupation.  What, in this moment, are you taking so seriously?  Let all seriousness go and be happy - loosen up!  If, in any moment, we’re un-preoccupied and are not taking anything really seriously then we’re present, available and therefore capable of love.

Life’s not about getting what we want.  Life and the universe isn’t purposed towards giving us what we want.  If we try and live life on this basis we’ll be constantly and ultimately frustrated.  A happy and loving orientation to life and the universe is to take what’s given and use it in a creative and positive way.  We can go through life kicking, screaming and complaining but in the end we still have to live it.

Everything is acceptable to consciousness. Consciousness has no desire and no fear. Consciousness is attached to nothing.  Consciousness has no problems and isn’t in a dilemma.  Consciousness is love.  Consciousness grants freedom.  There’s nothing behind consciousness, consciousness simply is.  Consciousness isn’t caused by anything, it’s only there to be realised and all of life to be enjoyed from it’s standpoint.
