Spiritual Life is a Mysterious, Magical
and Blessed Existence
Everything we experience of the world is perceptual and conceptual in
nature. We never experience an
object directly, we experience it via our psyche
By objectifying things in the so-called objective world we stop treating
them in a psychic way and lose the ability to relate to the world in a psychic
way and as a psychic phenomenon.
What is the alternative to presuming to live in a mechanical and
materialistic world? An alternative to a mechanical view of existence is a magical
and mysterious view. An alternative
to a materialistic view is a spiritual and psychic view.
The world we know is a psychic phenomenon.
We never experience it except psychically.
We never experience it except as knowledge and perception. We also never
experience it except as a condition that includes us.
We are not separate from it and cannot separate ourselves from it.
What we are at the level of the psyche and consciousness is as much a
part of the world as the so-called material objective world.
The material world is proposed as the only reality.
In the naivety of our childhood we believed it and continue to believe it
as we move into adulthood passing it on to the next generation.
We are allowing our psyche to be dominated by a materialistic world view.
We draw a distinction between our inner world of mind and the outer
physical world. In doing this we trap ourselves in a mental world largely
divorce from reality and are also unable to totally connect with the physical
one. In so doing we live in an
unreal world of our own creation. If
we observe, without bringing an attitude to what we observe, the nature of
things can begin to become obvious and daily life is revealed as a psychic
process. The more awake our psyche
becomes the more we appreciate the living, psychic force connected to everything
in the world. We become aware of
and sensitive to the feeling, mood and energy connected with objects, rooms,
places and situations.
Awakening
from the suppressed state of our being enables us to rediscover our own
existence as a psychic process. Presuming ourselves to be a separate being is a
suppression of what we actually are. So,
as a separate being we will constantly feel suppressed and therefore frustrated,
because we are suppressed and therefore frustrated at being less that we
actually are. Through intelligent
observation we can uncover these acts of self-suppression.
At
the most basic, fundamental level of our existence we are the cause of any and all
our suffering, stress, problems, anxiety, fear and concern.
By rediscovering the psychic nature of the world we can rediscover our
own existence as a psychic process. That
existence does not come to an end because one feature, the physical, comes to an
end. Therefore, we are not
threatened by the physical manifestation of the material world.
When the psychic dimension of our being comes to the front and becomes
the essential characteristic of our existence this allows the real spiritual
process to develop.
It
is unlikely we can transform our life from a physical existence to a spiritual
one without firstly transforming it into a primarily psychic one.
Therefore, our vision of the world must change and another model of
existence must become evident to us for the truly spiritual nature of life to
become evident.
